Karanba consists of two non-profit associations. In Brazil, all activities are linked to the philanthropic association Karanba Associacao Filantropica (KAF), and in Norway, all activities related to Karanba are organized through the association Karanba Norge (KN).
Karanba Associacao Filantropica (KAF) is led by founder and CEO Tommy Nilsen. The organization has over 40 employees, all of whom are located in Sao Goncalo/Rio de Janeiro. The organization currently consists of a competent staff with backgrounds in various fields, such as Pedagogy/teaching, football/sports management, Physiotherapy/sports injuries, Psychiatry/community work. Karanba Norway (KN) is an association with the sole purpose of supporting Karanba's activities in Brazil. The association is led by a Board of Directors and consists only of volunteers who raise funds for Karanba in Brazil to the best of their ability. With very few costs in Norway, more than 95% of the funds raised are sent directly to Brazil. The organization is linked to and continuously approved by Innsamlingskontrollen,
